B.K. Developers built a custom designed house for us in Raumati Beach in 2008/2009.
Dean Billot encouraged us to visit the site as often as we liked during the building period and, as he put it, “enjoy the process”.
Dean was good-humoured and unflappable as a project manager. He willingly explained anything we did not understand about the building process. He was tolerant of our requests for variations to the plans and specifications and made fair adjustments to costs, both positive and negative.
When things did not go as expected, Dean was always very quick to rectify the situation. When a resolution was not easily reached, Dean was tenacious in his pursuit of a satisfactory solution.
We had the feeling throughout that Dean was determined to ensure that we would be satisfied with the finished product. Indeed both Dean and his permanent crew showed an interest in the project from beginning to end and contributed valuable suggestions and added finishing touches which enhanced our home.
We enjoyed working with Dean through the whole process and are completely satisfied with the result. The quality of work completed by Dean’s crew and his subcontractors was most satisfactory.

Our home at 133 Milne Drive was built by B & K in 2001.
Throughout the design, construction & fitting stages we found B & K delightful to deal with. When we had our new house built in 2005 it was a pleasure working with Dean Billot, Russell, Graeme and the crew from B & K Developers. Our Architectural Designer Peter Davis recommended B & K Developers and we had no regrets that we went along with his recommendation.
From the start it was obvious that Dean took a very professional approach to managing the project and any little hiccups were dealt with by consultation with us as the clients, so we were kept in the loop at all times. We were always welcome on site to watch the building progress, which provided us with the opportunity to discuss any matters relating to what was going to be done during the following weeks. As the project progressed we were advised, within an appropriate timeframe, when we had to make decisions on the fittings such as door handles, mirrors, lights etc. The suggestions that Dean and his crew made regarding fixtures and fittings, based on previous experience, were well advised and in keeping with the type of home we were in the process of building.
Dean’s standards are high; he pays attention to detail and listens to what the client has to say. The other contractors that Dean brought on board also produced a very high standard of work. The result was a high quality home that we are very happy with. We have no problems or concerns about the standard of work and the finished product.
Last but not least, the project was completed within an appropriate timeframe and was not over budget. We are very happy customers and would recommend B & K Developers to other people about to start building a new home.

We made the decision to have B & K Developers build our new three level home after viewing one of their completed homes and admiring the workmanship and attention to detail in that building. We are delighted that we did so. Dean Billot and his team maintained the highest standards of building practice in building the fine house which we are proud to live in.
Dean has assembled a very competent and hard-working core building team and the sub-contractors he used for the project were also of a high standard. The new house was built next to the house we were living in during construction so we were pleased to find all of the people employed were friendly, courteous and helpful. We were also grateful that the site was kept in tidy condition throughout. Work was carried ou with a minimum of interruptions and the smoothness with which the complex operation was carried out over the life of the project is a tribute to Dean’s management skills.
Dean kept us fully informed of progress, monitored the budget carefully, was an effective link with the architect and from time to time advised us of minor improvements that could be made. This helped make the whole experience enjoyable and stress free.
The site provided some challenges but Dean with his considerable experience of building in similar conditions, readily overcame these. In early April 2002 we viewed the home you were selling and although we were keen to purchased our doctor advised against it because it was two storey with stairs which were not suitable for my wife and her back injury. Not to be put off we asked for a copy of the house plans to see if fitting a hydraulic lift was feasible and cost effect. After some research and your input we agreed it could be done and you guaranteed that the lift would be installed, operational and the home redecorated before we relocated from Palmerston North. We moved in June 2002 and true to you word the lift was installed to our complete satisfaction. In fact you would never have known it was not built that way originally.
Since then you have kept in touch with us to ensure everything about the home was to our expectation. In fact during the past 7 years you have attended to all of our property concerns yourself or brought in contractors to rectify the problems free of any charges. I believe the after sales service you have given to us has been exceptional.
